Last week, we took a family vacation down to Amelia Island and stayed in The Plantation at Turtle Dunes. HIGHLY recommend it and we will definitely be back! We rented a 2 bedroom condo right on the beach. The Nijem family (Justin, Amanda, and Jack) came with us. Jack is just about Austin's age, and the two get along so well. I was glad Austin had a little friend along with him for this beach trip.
Trent, Austin, and I arrived after lunch on Thursday. Austin could not take his eyes off the beach! Here were some of our first impressions as we arrived.
And that's exactly what we did all day, everyday! ;)

While we waited for the Nijems to get there that night, the three of us walked around the main grounds of the Plantation at The Shops.

The next day was full of FUN in the SUN! Justin and Amanda had arrived late the night before but were ready to hit the beach bright and early. Unfortunately, Jack was still a little tired and cranky from his busy week and had a slight fever. But he hung in there for a little while that morning until he just had to get some rest back in the condo, and get a little TLC from his momma. ;)
Also, when Trent and Justin went out that morning to set up our tent for the next few days (our BRAND NEW, JUST BOUGHT THAT WEEK tent) the wind got a hold of it and the bars just came tumbling down in the middle. It was just a twisted mess of metal. So no tent for us on the beach. :( Luckily, Justin was able to call the company and explained what happened. A new tent is being sent to our house. Thanks Justin!

It was nice to cool off in the pool from the blazing heat wave! And those umbrellas were very nice since we had no tent!!!
On Saturday, Jack was feeling much better and was ready to PLAY! We all hit the pool up first so we could grab some chairs and umbrellas to ensure our shade for the day. Then we went from beach to pool all day long.
After naps and showers, we all went back down to the beach for family pictures. Even though it was very hot and the baby boys were getting hungry, they did good trying to smile for our pictures! After picture time we had dinner on the Plantation at The Verandah. Very yummy!
